What a Registered Dietitian Eats in a Day – Heather Edition

By Heather Irwin, MS, RD, LDN

I thought it would be a neat idea to do a series about what a dietitian eats in a day. And since Bodymetrix is growing and now has 11 amazing dietitians, we have a lot of great ideas and suggestions for you that I hope will be helpful.

I’ll go first.

What Heather Irwin eats in a day:

1 Vanilla buttermilk Kodiak Cake Frozen Power Waffle

½ cup Plain Greek Yogurt

¾-1 cup of frozen raspberries, thawed and mixed into yogurt

Cup of black coffee

In the summer it is usually a salad and I put leftover protein from the night before on top or tuna and piece of fruit.

In the colder months, leftover homemade soup or chili and piece of fruit.

Plain Greek yogurt and applesauce (preferably homemade if I get a chance to put it in a crockpot). I like to mix these together.

Homemade meatballs with ground chicken or turkey with Rao’s or Victoria’s spaghetti sauce (skinnytaste.com has a lot of great recipes for different meatball ideas).

I like to eat mine with spaghetti squash or zoodles while my family prefers pasta.

Garlic bread and a side salad.

At night I have a cup of tea and if I’m in the mood for a sweet treat, will choose a Yasso Bar or an Enlighten frozen bar. My son is a big fan of popcorn, so on the weekends we may pop some up and snack on that.
