Erika Ringwald is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator. She graduated from West Chester University with honors and is currently working on her masters in Community Nutrition. In 2015, Erika received her Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management. For nearly 20 years she has worked in hospitals and research, and for the past eight years has found a passion in outpatient care.
Erika has worked with many different conditions ranging from nutrition support and GI issues, to weight management and diabetes. She believes that each person is unique and tailoring a plan specific to each person is important. One of her favorite things about providing nutritional counseling is the connection she makes with each client. She understands how challenging making changes can be; how tough it can be to stay committed; and how vulnerable a person may feel sharing something so personal as beliefs and habits around food. She is here to help, not judge.
While Erika has experience with many conditions and understands many happen simultaneously, Erika has a passion for diabetes. As a diabetes educator, Erika can provide Medical Nutrition Therapy; but can also have a deeper conversation about your medications, preventative care and overall well-being when managing this condition. For the past four years she has worked with clients that have Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes.
Erika lives in Franconia with her two boys. In her free-time she can be found at a baseball or football field or a hockey rink cheering on her boys. For exercise and stress management she enjoys hiking, walking, weight training and yoga. For fun she loves to cook and host get-togethers and spend time with family and friends.
Erika is primarily a virtual diabetic consultant with our office.
